Apocromate ED triplet
Apocromatele cu trei elemente de lentile sunt denumite și apocromate complete, deoarece doar această formă constructivă de telescop poate corecta suficient aberațiile cromatice nedorite. Spectrul secundar, abaterea cromatică reziduală, este corectată prin tipuri de sticlă și indici de refracție diferiți. Apocromatele ED cu trei lentile reduc aproape integral aberațiile cromatice. Imaginea nu este doar clară și neutră, ci posedă și un contrast ridicat.
