The side-by-side plates allow you to install two telescopes in parallel on the same mount and they are thus useful for both photographic and visual applications.
By using these side-by-side plates it is also possible to install a DSLR-camera in parallel to the main telescope in order to take a widefield pictures additonally.
Thanks to their particular design, the side by side Vixen plates PLUS can be used:
- for photographic applications, where it is necessary to install two telescopes on the same mount
- you can install a primary imaging telescope and one for guiding; or a camera (like a DSLR) that takes the pictures through its own lens and
a guidescope
- for visual applications, where it is useful to install two telescopes in parallel
This plate can be connected to all mounts with an Vixen plate and the two terminals are spaced at 202mm.
