A good beginner scope

I got one for my wife and I for Christmas. We have only tried a cheap scope before so this was a total revelation. I'm quite good with tinkering and technical stuff and after a bit of reading and filtering through the enormous amount of information it was actually easy to check and adjust collimation.
We got some awesome views when we traveled to a dark site but in the city the options are limited.
We got used to the controls quite easily but still we sometimes fight the gears backlash when using higher magnification.
I think this is a better scope than a manual one. Since we don't really have the time to really study the sky and understand all it's dynamics. This is easier to use for someone who has no idea what to search for on the night sky. Sky tour has proven to be a great thing for us.
Aligning is always easy. We tried auto-align, one star align, solar system align, all work great.
One important thing to set up is the slew limits since the tube can hit the tripod if the objects are high up in the sky. I've set mine to about max 70 deg, and min about 15 deg (since usually you can't really see the horizon.
Must haves for this scope are: external power source (I use a 12V 7Ah lead-acid battery), a collimation tool (I would recommend a Cheshire over a laser tool) and some sort of vibration pads.
A great addition is also a motorized focuser. But for starters you can definitely do without it.
I would buy it again, but if i lived in a darker place and would not need portability I'd really go for bigger aperture.
All in all it's a decent choice and we're learning more about the sky and see stuff where sthe sky seem completely dark.
If you did your research and this scope is on your list then go for it.
